Bikebug rides:
We currently have 2 permanent shop rides.
Bike Bug (Wednesday)
Wednesday 6:00am we meet on the corner of Oxford st and College st, near The Burdekin hotel.
We ride through the hills of Bondi at a good pace and get back to Single Origin coffee shop at Surry Hills about 7am.
Bike Bug (Saturday)
Saturday Bikebug ride heads North. For enquiries please come into the store and see our sales staff!
There are also many other training rides available throughout Sydney for riders of all levels. Listed here are some of the rides or local racing that the Bike Bug staff and sponsored riders often participate in.
Coluzzi Ride (midweek)
The Coluzzi ride leaves Bar Coluzzi (322 Victoria St, Darlinghurst) each Tuesday and Thursday morning at 6.20am, and heads out to Cronulla and back. It is a fast ride, and quite often people attack the bunch around Cronulla.
Coluzzi Ride (Saturday)
This famous ride leaves Bar Coluzzi (322 Victoria St, Darlinghurst) each Saturday morning 6.20am, and heads out to Waterfall and back. It is a fast ride, with a fast paceline between Waterfall and Sutherland on way back until the Mad Mile when a sprint into Sutherland begins. It then regroups at the servo if need be and returns to the city.
Heffron Park (Saturday)
Criterium racing is conducted every Saturday by Randwick-Botany Cycling Club in a happy and friendly atmosphere at Heffron Park criterium circuit. Racing starts at 4pm (check for daylight savings times) for D&E grades, and 5pm for A, B & C grades.
Coluzzi Ride (Sunday)
This ride leaves Bar Coluzzi (322 Victoria St, Darlinghurst) each Sunday morning at 8am, and goes through the eastern suburns to La Perouse, down Foreshore Rd (Paceline), then to Dolls point, then back to Coluzzi. There is a fast bunch that takes a slightly different route at a couple of points, and a medium bunch. There is also a slower bunch that goes down Anzac Parade.
Heffron Park (Tuesday)
During summer from November until the end of March, racing at Hefferon Park is provided by the Eastern Suburbs Cycling Club. It starts at 6pm and caters to A, B and C grade and is run on a handicap. It is usually quite fast and attracts large fields of riders from many parts of Sydney.
